Brunei - Sharia Law:

In April 2019, Brunei implemented a new penal code based on sharia law, which includes the punishment of death by stoning for same-sex sexual acts and amputation for theft. The new laws received widespread international condemnation from human rights groups, governments and celebrities. The move sparked worldwide protests and calls for boycotts of hotels owned by the Brunei Investment Agency, which is owned by the Sultan of Brunei.
